(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 7 - After Google's initiative, Facebook is extending its Data for Good program by making available to researchers from all over the world new tools to study and prevent the evolution of coronavirus infection. In Italy, among these, there are the team of Professor Stefano Denicolai, of the University of Pavia, and the Laboratory of Data Science andComplexity of the University of Venice, led by WalterQuattrociocchi. Both are part of the task force appointed by the Italian government to combat the Covid-19 emergency, which sipresume will use Facebook data.
The tools put in place by Facebook are three new types of maps, which help to understand both the movements of people near or away from home and the "social connection index" to hypothesize the spread of the infection and the probabilities that people in an area come into contact with people from another area.
