About 25 million jobs are at risk of disappearing with the collapse of air transport demand for the Covid-19 crisis. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimates it, explaining that the lives of about 65.5 million people depend on the aviation sector, also considering sectors such as travel and tourism. Of these 2.7 million are jobs in airlines.
In a scenario where travel restrictions lasted for three months, IATA estimates that around 25 million jobs in aviation and related sectors are at risk worldwide. In particular, 11.2 million places in Asia-Pacific, 5.6 million in Europe, 2.9 million in Latin America, 2 million in Africa and 0.9 million in the Middle East.
