Geneva, Apr 6 (EFE) .- Stars such as the British Elton John and Paul McCartney, the Colombian Maluma or the Chinese pianist Lang Lang will participate next week in the solidarity concert "One World: Together at Home" to pay tribute to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, as announced today by Lady Gaga, participant and promoter.

The concert will also include Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Idris Elba and other stars not linked to the music scene, such as former soccer player David Beckham, as explained by the American singer and Australian philanthropist Hugh Evans, another of the promoters of the initiative.

The two-hour concert will be broadcast by networks such as the British BBC or the American ABC, CBS and NBC, among others, in addition to various online platforms and will begin at 0:00 GMT on April 19.

Lady Gaga presented this initiative together with the director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, after announcing that he has collaborated in the collection of 35 million dollars (almost 33 million euros) to help that organism to finance the research of coronavirus treatments and vaccines.

The award-winning singer took the opportunity to thank "the health workers who have helped fight this catastrophe" and "all the people who have lost their jobs" due to the crisis caused by the pandemic.
