Hamburg (dpa / tmn) - With some insurance companies, consumers have to answer questions about their health before concluding the contract. The following generally applies: The questions have to be answered fully and truthfully, explains the Federation of Insureds.
Under the Insurance Contracts Act, consumers are required to report all of the hazardous circumstances they are aware of.
Anyone who is explicitly asked about a coronavirus infection in the current situation should truthfully provide information. Possible questions could be: Are there symptoms? Has a test already been carried out? With what result?
If you have been diagnosed with coronavirus, it may be difficult to get insurance. However, since the disease heals in the vast majority of cases, a normal conclusion should be possible afterwards without special restrictions due to the previous diagnosis.
