2020-04-08T13:51:30.776Z

Convenience store home visits remain authorized despite confinement. These are essential emergency professions.

Every day, Le Parisien is mobilized to answer your questions around the coronavirus. This time, an interrogation around the trades related to the breakdown service: "Can we always be repaired during the period of confinement?" " The answer is yes. As the Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped blackouts, heating or water leaks, many professionals remain mobilized and can help you if necessary.

The decree decreed by the government concerning the closure of public and commercial establishments dated March 15 does not include the closure of breakdown service companies. Plumbers and electricians are still allowed to carry out their daily activities. However, with the decrease in the number of interventions, many of them have exceptionally stopped their activity and it can therefore be difficult to find an available craftsman.

Postpone non-essential work

Professionals working with donors, public or private, are always called upon to intervene in emergencies such as a water leak. Do not hesitate to contact your trustee if necessary. If you are an owner, the Confederation of Crafts and Small Building Companies (CAPEB) advises you to contact a professional only in an emergency in order to limit travel. And, therefore, to postpone all non-essential work at the end of the confinement period.

Finally, you can always carry out small repairs yourself. Large DIY stores remain open and offer a drive service to collect equipment.
