This Friday, Jérôme Salomon drew up the last French assessment of the Covid-19 epidemic. 31,267 people are now hospitalized throughout the country. Among them, 7004 are supported in intensive care. In 24 hours, 500 new patients were thus admitted to these services. Taking exits into account, the number of places occupied in intensive care shows its second day of consecutive decline, with 62 places occupied on Friday.
In terms of deaths, 8,598 patients lost in hospital. In the past 24 hours, 554 additional victims have been identified. In total, taking into account in particular the nursing homes where 4,599 victims have been counted to date, 13,197 people have lost their lives since the start of the epidemic.
When speaking, Jérôme Salomon, like every day, detailed the number of people under 30 admitted to intensive care. They were 98 this Friday. The director general of health announced this evening the death of a child under the age of ten who had contracted the virus. The causes of his death could nevertheless be "multiple".
