(ANSA) - PALERMO, APRIL 10 - The Italian Red Cross - Sicily and Sicily by Car Regional Committee have entered into an agreement to guarantee greater mobility of resources and volunteers throughout the region. Across Sicily, the Committees have activated a series of services to support lonely elderly people, fragile or immunosuppressed people: expenditure on homelessness, delivery of drugs and basic necessities, transport by sanitary, thanks to the activity of thousands of Volunteers. To support CRI activities in the area, Sicilyby Car will make available eight station wagons and two vans, free of charge for 30 days. The vehicles will be taken over at the Palermo and Catania facilities and will serve to implement the availability of vehicles made available by the National Committee of the CRI. "I am honored - commented Tommaso Dragotto, President of Sicily by Car - for the realization of the partnership with the Italian Red Cross. This initiative is a source of pride and privilege for Sicily by Car but, I believe even more, it is also our absolute duty. The fight against Covid-19, with the free provision of our vehicles, is a signal to express my personal closeness, and the appreciation of all the collaborators of the company, the heroic effort of all the health workers, and the work of the Red Cross in particular".
"I welcomed with joy - declared Luigi Corsaro, President of the Red Cross in Sicily - the realization of this agreement with an important partner strategically in this moment of emergency. The CRI Committees of Sicily are fully committed to carrying out #iltempodellagentilezza and assisting as many as possible people we can reach. Thanks to President Tommaso Dragotto for the sensitivity shown that will allow us to implement even more our services in favor of the weaker segments ". (ANSA).
