(ANSA) - TRIPOLI, 11 ARP - In Libya two million people, including 600 thousand children, have no water in Tripoli and its surroundings, because the supply has been cut for days by those who use water as a "weapon of war": it is what the UN denounces, perbocca of the coordinator of aid to Libya, Yacoub de Hillo, explaining that this dramatic situation, in a country devastated by war and where the coronavirus also appears, has lasted for a week now. "Access to electricity and water as never before is a lifesaver," said de Hillo.
The water supply in Tripoli and its surroundings was interrupted by the men of the Shwerif militia, 350 south-east of the Libyan capital: a militia loyal to Khalifa Haftar, who for over a year has been at war with the government, recognized by the international community, of Al Sarraj in Tripoli.
