The pandemic emergency restricts not only the freedom of movement but also the tables of the houses with just 3 people on average to celebrate the feast with typical and auspicious dishes. This is what emerges from the Coldiretti / Ixè investigation of the Italian Easter at the time of the coronavirus that distorted the traditional mega family reunions with uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
"If in almost 1 house out of 3 (29%) it is - as Coldiretti points out - a Easter as a couple, in 47% of homes, lunch brings together 3 to 4 people. Then there is a 9% slice of people who, by force or by choice, celebrate alone, perhaps by connecting in video call with relatives or friends.
This year the menu is also poorer with the overall spending for Easter lunch which - highlights Coldiretti - is on average 41 euros with a drop of 27% compared to last year ".
That of this year, concludes Coldiretti "is an Easter sprint with half of Italians (50%) who will spend from just 30 minutes to an hour sitting at the table, while 1 in 4 will arrive up to 2 hours before getting up from chair for a "digestive walk", not outside the home or in the parks, but from the living room to the bedroom and back ".
