(ANSA) - VENICE, APRIL 12 - A deserted Venice, sunny and without any buzz, offered an unreal image of Easter day. Hundreds of the men and women of the forces of the order engaged in checks on compliance with the travel restrictions for Coronavirus. Checks also from above with helicopters and drones, from the banks with police and carabinieri boats, and in the lagoon with the patrol boats of the Captainship, to intercept the possible movement of boats not motivated by necessity. Around the center of history only residents with their dogs, and people who take advantage of the purchase of the newspaper for a walk.
Most of them are elderly. Someone arrived with his four-legged friend right in front of the Basilica of San Marco, incurring control of the mixed police-army patrols.
