The coronavirus pandemic has also stopped the world of Disney World and its famous Orlando parks in Florida. With the Mickey Mouse company which has decided to suspend, from next Sunday, the employment contracts for 43 thousand employees, promising the recovery only after the emergency is over.

Among them also 200 Italian boys , who went to work - in various capacities - in the amusement parks that have now been stuck in a country, struggling with the virus, which has effectively closed the flights.

"There is no physical possibility of returning to your country," says one of them, Federico Arca, on Facebook while the Farnesina ensures that he is following the case closely: the Italian consulate in Miami, in close contact with the Crisis Unit and the Italian Embassy in Washington, is in constant contact with the boys and, according to what is learned, is working tirelessly to provide every possible assistance and identify useful itineraries for the return.

The main obstacle is the tight time to leave the country and above all the possibility of finding a flight that will bring them back to Italy. "The only company for the Orlando-New York route reports that every flight is overbooked or unconfirmed until at least April 19, we have to leave home on the 18th morning: we are at risk in a land not ours" writes Arca, who in Italy lives in Pisogne, near Brescia.

Last April 11 the boys, he says, received a letter in which Disney World communicated that they had "decided to end the program" through which they had arrived in Orlando, conceding until April 18 to leave their apartments and up to a month to leave the United States.

"I was kicked out of Florida during an experience that was supposed to be the most beautiful of my life but that turned into a nightmare that seems endless at the moment. My appeal must be for Italy, for my nation, which I don't want to leave me in the middle of the street "adds Arca.
