In a video speech, Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to all those who helped save Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral from flames on April 15, 2019.
“We don't forget anything. Neither the heroic outburst of courage that saved the cathedral from the flames, nor the tremendous wave of generosity that arose in the hours and days that followed, "said the head of state.
A year just after the fire, the President of the Republic reiterated his ambition to see Notre-Dame rebuilt in five years: "We will do everything to meet this deadline", promised the President, despite a site totally under shutdown since the Covid-19 crisis.
"It will restart as soon as possible," said Emmanuel Macron.
