AFP photographer Yasuyoshi Chiba won the prestigious World Press Photo of 2020 on Thursday for an image of a young man reciting a poem among protesters demanding civil rule in Khartoum, Sudan, announced on jury.

The jurors explained that they " selected the photograph of Yasuyoshi Chiba Straight Voice as photo of the year ", the highest award in the photojournalism competition. AFP images were also awarded in various categories, including two other first prizes.
