2020-04-16T19:34:31.674Z

Restaurateurs in the 10th arrondissement are supported by Parisians to deliver the hospitals cooked food every day.

They move to cook meals for hospital staff every day. At the request of the G NEED 2 collective, Parisians are involved in the manufacturing of meals for hospitals. And it is a success, 25,000 meals have already been delivered to 16 hospitals in Ile-de-France and 8 social centers.

Braised beef, salad and crumble

Dozens of restaurateurs cook hundreds of dishes every day. Braised beef all night, green salad and apple crumble, this was the menu concocted on Wednesday by the team at Le Verre Volé in the 10th arrondissement in Paris. A menu concocted for the caregivers of the Baujon hospital: "I have a tool, a kitchen, a network of buddy restaurateurs, market gardeners and producers, and I wanted to be useful" explains Thomas Vicente, one of the bosses of Stolen Glass .

“Everything is fresh, seasonal, cellophane free and nothing is frozen! "Proudly recalls Marc Longa, the boss of the Gravity bar who came to lend a hand to prepare these 85 meals. “Every week, we have trucks coming to deliver and they have tons of goods that they are ready to give us for free so that they don't throw it away. Meals are mainly made with his donations, ”he says.

Volunteer delivery men

But who comes to collect the stolen glass meals and bring them to the Beaujon hospital? It's Dominique of course! Hairdresser in everyday life, he improvises as a delivery man during this Covid-19 crisis! Like him, many individuals are committed to helping caregivers and the poorest.

A stone's throw away, in front of the Lariboisière hospital, we meet a teacher, mother of four, who opens the trunk of her car, for the young interns who came to receive, the financiers, cakes, crates of vegetables and fruit , collected by the neighborhood, following requests from their hospital on Facebook.

It is a huge surge of solidarity for caregivers, which is snowballing. "We're too happy to eat something fresh, rather than a quick sandwich!" Says an intern in front of the hospital.
