The SarsCov2 virus is also active in the secretions of the eyes, or in tears, of positive patients. This is demonstrated by a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine by researchers from the Spallanzani Institute in Rome. Starting from an eye swab, they isolated the virus showing that it is also able to replicate in the conjunctiva. Research, they say, shows that the eyes are not only one of the gateways for the virus to enter the body, but also a "potential source of contagion". (HANDLE).
