(ANSA) - MILAN, APRIL 22 - Faced with the urgency of the situation created by the Coronavirus emergency, Covivio offers numerous hotels. A first facility, located in Barcelona, is preparing to welcome doctors and patients. More hotels will serve as emergency accommodation in France in the coming days.
The real estate group announced this in its press release on the results of the first quarter of the year. Once out of the crisis and after the reopening of the franchised hotels, Covivio will offer approximately 2,000 free nights in its facilities to the health personnel of the hospitals of Metz, the company's legal seat as well as the French region particularly affected by the crisis.
In Italy Covivio financially supports the initiative launched by its partner Politecnico di Milano for the production of disinfectant gel supplied directly to the Regional Emergency Agency of the Lombardy Region and then distributed to the various people in the area. The Covivio Foundation, which will be operational in the second half of the year, increases its endowment for 2020 and will direct its first interventions on supporting the populations most affected by the economic effects of the crisis.
In this unprecedented context, Covivio has applied the recommendations expressed by the French Government and the Fédérationdes Sociétés Immobilières et Foncière (FSIF) on the matter of protection and support to small and very small businesses affected by the closure decrees. This translates in particular to the automatic application of cancellation of the monthly fee for very small businesses. For SMEs in difficulty, the group "evaluates the best solution on the basis of the specific situation, favoring the payment by installments or the renegotiation of the fees". (HANDLE).
