(ANSA) - MILAN, APRIL 22 - As part of the solidarity campaign in favor of the Italian Red Cross promoted by the Laps Foundation, a charitable organization founded by LapoElkann, Eataly and the Afeltra pasta factory donated a ton of Gragnano durum wheat pasta.
The pasta, already delivered in the last few hours to the committee of the Red Cross Sicily, will be distributed in all the provinces of Sicily through volunteers. "I am very grateful - explains LapoElkann in a statement - to the Farinetti family, Eataly and the Afeltra pasta factory for this important contribution: altruism and generosity are the basic elements of our present and our future. A particular aspect that I want to underline is how this donation symbolizes the unity of our country: from Piedmont, the region in which Eataly was founded, to Campania, the place where the pasta was produced and to Sicily, which receives it as a gift ", concludes Lapo Elkann.
"I am excited that in this emergency the generosity, experience and professionalism of Lapo Elkann in support of the Italian Red Cross has intensified, allowing, with the fundraising in progress, to assist a growing number of people who are in a state of greater vulnerability", comments Luigi Corsaro, president of the Red Cross of Sicily. "Many thanks to Eataly, Pastificio Afeltra and to the Laps Foundation for this donation of pasta to CRI Sicily which will reach the people and families we assist every day through the 38 territorial CRI Committees", concludes Corsaro.
