(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 29 - Beijing reopens the Forbidden City on Friday May 1, releasing the closure decided on January 25 as part of efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus, as the latest sign that the pandemic in China is back under control. The Palace Museum, which manages the Forbidden City, explained on its website that at the beginning, no more than 5,000 visitors will be allowed to enter daily, against the usual 80,000 before the crisis triggered by Covid-19. The authorities have strengthened the measures to reduce the risk of infection to tourist sites: there is an obligation to use the mask and to show the state of health based on the constant updating app which certifies the absence of contagion, in addition to the strict respect for interpersonal distancing at least one meter. Since the announcement of the opening of the true symbol of the capital, of which 600 years have passed since its construction, about 2,500 tickets have been booked online in less than half an hour.
