A can of beans can actually be found in every pantry. But what can you conjure up from it, apart from chili con carne? We'll give you a few ideas.

  • Do you have some beans in the closet?
  • You can make delicious recipes beyond chili and Co.
  • We have an idea for pure beans and one that is suitable as a side dish for grilling.

There are classics that can actually be found in every pantry. The jar of pickled cucumbers is one of them, the can of tomatoes and at least one can of beans.

Recently, the bean shelves were looted again and again. But what do you do with kidney beans, white beans and Co. before they dust on the shelf? The former often end up in chili con carne, but there must be more.

Most don't just eat the beans like this, they usually come in soup, stew * and co. That's a shame, because beans are a nutritious source of protein that doesn't have to be neglected.

The first step to staring beans is marinating

How to marinate beans

Marinating is very easy and quick and gives the beans a great taste.

Simply heat three parts of olive oil and one part of white vinegar with a generous dash of lemon juice and some sugar or honey and in a pan. Pour the marinade over the beans, stir well and let the beans steep. If you like it a little hotter, add finely chopped onions *. Before eating, season them with salt, pepper and possibly some vinegar.

This is how the beans taste to a delicious fresh baguette.
