Coronavirus: Gafam weather the storm

None of the tech giants are showing real signs of difficulty linked to the pandemic thanks to the diversity of their activities. Even the most dependent on the advertising market prove to be more resilient than expected.


This week was eagerly awaited by “Big Tech” observers: Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple… all were going to publish their financial results for the first quarter of 2020, marked by a confinement of the planet from the month of March. This is an opportunity to take the temperature on the capacity of these sprawling giants to withstand a global health crisis, marked by a sharp slowdown in the economy. Were they going to show signs of weakness, at least for the most dependent on the very depressed advertising market?
