In the afternoon report of the Ministry of Health it was indicated that there were 5 deaths during this Friday, in addition to the 2 reported in the morning.

Earlier, the death of a 57-year-old man, resident in the City of Buenos Aires, and a 76-year-old woman, resident in the province of Buenos Aires, had been confirmed.

Regarding the total of confirmed cases, it was detailed that "916 (20.2%) are imported, 1,949 (43%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 1,224 (27%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are in epidemiological investigation. "

New symptoms of Covid-19

In addition to the fever, cough, sore throat and lack of smell and taste included in the list of symptoms of suspected cases of Covid-19, the scientific bibliography incorporated other neurological, cardiovascular and cutaneous manifestations, which for specialists configures "a logical process in a disease that we only knew four months ago. "

"We have only known the virus for four months, it is a very short time to know the behavior of a disease. However, at this time, around 7,500 scientific articles were published in recognized publications, a number with little medical history," he described to Télam Daniel Ricardo Stecher, head of the Infectology Division of the Hospital de Clínicas.

For Stecher, "We defined the clinical picture of Covid-19 from what was seen in most of the outbreak patients in Wuhan, China, and what was seen there is that people had fever, respiratory distress, pain throat, cough and pneumonia. "

The infectologist described that "over time, symptoms or manifestations that are rare began to be identified, but given the spread of the disease, although they affect 5% of patients, they are very many people."

"Now, when you have to go out and detect patients in a country where the disease is starting, what you have to look for is what occurs most frequently and not the rarest," he continued.

"Today we learned that some patients also have alterations of smell (anosmia) and taste (dysgeusia), and that the fever was not as high as originally described," explained the specialist on these criteria that are incorporated into the list of symptoms to identify suspected cases in Argentina since April 16.
