(ANSA) - PARIS, MAY 2 - The medical emergency in France for the coronavirus pandemic has been extended until July 24. This was announced by the Minister of Health, OlivierVéran.
The extension of the state of emergency, which entered into force on March 24 and which was to last until May 23, was decided by the Council of Ministers in the form of a draft law which will have to be approved by Parliament after a debate which will begin on Monday. The draft law stresses that it would be "premature" to allow the state of emergency to expire without extending it, since "risks of epidemic recovery" exist in the case of "sudden interruption of the ongoing measures".
