(ANSA) - AREZZO, MAY 2 - An eighteen-year-old was arrested this morning by the carabinieri in execution of a precautionary custody measure for the attack on the Arma diPergine Valdarno station, in the province of Arezzo, on the night between 6 and 7 January : the launch of a Molotov cocktail caused the burning of a service car and damage to the facade of the barracks. As explained by the same carabinieri who conducted the investigations, the reasons for the action would be attributable to the "strong resentment" that the young man would have had towards the weapon, in particular of the soldiers of Pergine Valdarno, because they would have reported him several times for acts of hooliganism since he was a minor.
The young man, who lives in Valdarno, was charged with the crimes of fire, manufacturing, detention and taking weapons of war and explosive devices to a public place in order to instill public fear and to attack public safety.
