'Phase 2' will start on Monday 4 May for 4.4 million workers , while "2.7 million" will still remain at home. The recovery, however, is not exempt from "paradoxes": in fact, above all the 'over50' will return to activity , compared to young people, mainly in Northern Italy, an area most exposed to contagion from Covid-19. Employment consultants point out this.
In detail, out of 100 'firm' employees in our Peninsula as a result of government measures to suspend activities due to the Coronavirus, "62.2%" will go back to their jobs from the day after tomorrow. And, of these, "3.3 million are men (74.8% of the total), and 1.1 million women (25.2%)". The 'phase 2', write the labor consultants, "will mainly affect the employees of the industry, where the activity will be able to return to full capacity (with 100% of the sectors reopened)", and out of 100 employees who will take over the reins of their employment 60.7% work "in the manufacturing sector, 15.1% in construction, 12.7% in commerce and 11.4% in other service activities".
Phase 2 presents "an inconsistent picture with respect to the spread of the pandemic", according to the work consultants: from May 4, in fact, the resumption of production activities "will concentrate precisely in the areas most affected by the Coronavirus", because in front of 2.8 million employed in the North, "812,000 in the Center and 822,000 in the South" will begin to carry out their duties again. Among the regions involved, we read in the study of professionals, "Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, Veneto and Marche, where the rate of return fluctuates around 69%;". The percentages are different in other areas of the country, that is "in Valle d'Aosta (49.3%), Lazio (46.7%), Sicily (43.4%), Calabria (42.5%) and Sardinia (39 , 2%) ": here, says the dossier, 'phase 2' will involve less than one worker out of two among those 'suspended' as a result of government decrees.
