(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 3 - Churches in Germany have reopened doors to the faithful, although the functions from now on will be very different from before the lockdown. After weeks of negotiations, the BBC recalls, strict rules have been introduced to prevent coronavirus infections: churches will limit the number of participants and people will have to keep at least 2 meters away. Singing is forbidden, which according to health officials can help spread the virus in the air. Priests must wear a mask when giving communion.
The reopening of churches is only the latest easing in Germany's adopted restrictions since 22 March. Tomorrow it will reopen to schools from fifth grade upwards.
