'I encourage international collaboration on vaccines' (ANSA)

The Pope at Regina Coeli addressed a thought to coronavirus patients, to those who assist them, and encouraged "the international collaboration that is taking place" for vaccines and treatments. The pontiff therefore launched an appeal to ensure "universal access to essential technologies that allow every infected person, in every part of the world, to receive the necessary health care".

Then the pontiff launched the invitation to the day of prayer and fasting, together with all believers of all faiths, for May 14: "I accepted the proposal of the High Committee for Human Brotherhood so that on May 14 the believers of all religions come together spiritually in a day of prayer and fasting and works of charity, to implore God to help humanity overcome the coronavirus pandemic. Remember May 14: all believers of different traditions together to pray, fast and do works of charity ".
