As the citizens of the state are slowly exiting the closure and preparing for a new routine in the shadow of the Corona, talk is now beginning of going on nature walks. This, in light of the will and great need of the general public to go out into the open spaces and nature walks, which he missed so much, especially during the closed days that were forced upon us and in the spring, which are some of the beautiful periods for the trip.

Accordingly, the Nature and Parks Authority, which manages the National Parks and Nature Reserves, is preparing to exit the closure. This is done with a unique action plan and preparation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, for a routine visit to the nature and heritage sites under the Ministry of Health's restrictions and guidelines.

As part of the plan proposed by the Nature and Parks Authority, which is still awaiting final approval, to ensure a fun but also safe trip, visits will only be possible in the open spaces of the sites, without entering the enclosed areas used for exhibits. In addition, visitor quotas will be set at any given time for each site, depending on its characteristics, and pre-registration for site visits by hours will be required. According to the plan, visitors quota at a given time will be much smaller than the authority permits on routine days.

The quota will be based on calculating the site size, average visitor time on the site, audience flow trajectory and points of interest where there is potential for clutter. This quota will allow the Authority to manage audience absorption while controlling the number of inbound and outbound visitors as well as maintaining the proper distances between visitors. As part of this, the Nature and Parks Authority also conducted a record-setting visitor registration system, which was established at record speed, and would be able to respond by date, number of visitors and time of visit, in a way that visits can be booked in advance.

We checked - when will tourism return in Israel?

This is possible: a world trip in the days of Corona

"Israel earned image points in the Corona crisis"

In addition, visitors will have to act responsibly and in accordance with site team guidelines, keep families well apart and avoid crowds, maintain basic hygiene and other Ministry of Health guidelines that are required and accustomed to in the new Corona routine.

In order to be ready for the outdoors with the restrictions removed, we have prepared you some travel excursions around the country, nature reserves and national parks, which during this time the trip and visit are especially recommended.

Be strict about the border

Dr. Boaz Shaham, director of the National Reptile and Amphibian Collection and National Nature Collection, emphasizes that there are some rules that should be adopted when returning to nature, especially in light of the colorful awakening we saw while staying in homes.

"We must abide by the principles of least disturbing and distressing animals. Within the localities we see animals roaming the cities, ranging from rock faces to foxes and boars. Our trips must be alongside the animals, and we should keep them constant. In the country we do not have large predators that consider humans a purpose, a meal. If you meet animals, we need to keep them away, it is important to travel, these are wildlife and not a petting corner. Do not partake in food or leave them some of the sandwich or skewer. It is very harmful to them and it actually produces unnatural concentrations of carnivores, it completely takes advantage Of balance, so much so, "says Shaham.

Another recommendation is to adhere to the boundaries of space: "It is important to stay on the paths and stay only in neat places. This is so as not to disturb the animals or invade their territories. You have to do things responsibly and understand that nature is also theirs. And at night.

It is advisable not to enter caves that are not in regulated places and the same is true of cisterns, which is detrimental to animal health, from bats to aquatic creatures, they can completely die from disturbing them or causing them to go out during an unsuitable season. Even if an injured animal is found, contact the Nature and Parks Authority or animal hospitals. Do not approach them, many times we do not understand nature and do not know what is really happening. Of course, it is very important to keep the clean, not the dirt, and collect any dirt we have left on the ground. Nature blossomed during the Corona, let us continue to flourish and keep it. "

Maintain health

Dr. Joshua Shkedi, Chief Scientist of the Nature and Parks Authority, adds that "In order for us to continue to enjoy nature and animals, it is important to keep walking on marked trails, walk during the day and leave night hours for wildlife activity, and to drive cautiously on the roads on the way to the sites, Because wildlife has become accustomed to less traffic on road vehicles. In addition, disposable tools should be avoided and care should be taken to clear the trash at the end of the visit. We are currently completing a survey aimed at assessing the change in wildlife habitat utilization in the absence of human presence so that we can learn more about how to manage nature conservation in Israel. "

Shaul Goldstein, Director General of the Nature and Parks Authority, notes that "The Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, has prepared a purple sign for the Authority's sites, which will allow a safe visit experience after months in which it was not possible to walk in the parks and nature reserves. I hope that in the coming days we will get the permit to open the sites, and the public will be able, after many days of staying alone at home, of physical disconnection from spring and nature, to go out and visit the beautiful sites of our country. "

Apollonia National Park

Apolonia National Park is located on a kurkar cliff overlooking the coast of the city of Herzliya and overlooks almost every point on the site with spectacular viewpoints. The national park has the remains of an impressive and spectacular open-air Crusader fortress, built some 800 years ago, enriching the hiking experience. If you wish, the trip experience in Apollonia offers scenery, nature and archeology in one package, centrally located in the country and suitable for the whole family, including children's carts and people with disabilities.

Ein Gedi Nature Reserve

One of the most spectacular nature reserves in Israel. Large and spacious, it combines desert landscapes, unique vegetation, waterfalls and backwaters, as well as impressive nature with a variety of birds and birds that holiday above flocks of flocks that roam at short distances from travelers. The reserve has two main complexes and separate entrances: Nahal David, suitable for the whole family, including small children and some also accessible to people with disabilities, the other is Arugot, which is more suitable for the better. More details on the Nature and Parks Authority website.

Sick Nature Reserve

A large, open-air reserve that is a symbol of nature conservation, and is currently gaining an impressive presence of migratory birds and birds passing through the route of their migration back from African countries to Europe. At the reserve you can enjoy comfortable and exciting hiking trails around the points of interest, including wooden bridges on lakes. You can also expect a flock of gamus that inhabits the site, storks, pelicans, other waterfowl and soft egg turtles.

The Banias Nature Reserve

Another interesting site is the Banias Nature Reserve with the famous Banias Waterfall, which this year has been particularly buzzing and foamy due to the blessed rainy season. The waterfall plunges with mighty intensity and noise from a height of about 10 m to a beautiful pool surrounded by vegetation. You can watch the waterfall and get wet from the splashing water, from the neat wooden balcony. The rushing water noise and breathtaking sight make the experience particularly enjoyable. You can also choose the hanging bridge route on the site, which allows you to move comfortably right next to the stream's flood waters.

Castel National Website

Castel National Site One of the most important heritage sites in Israel, which tells the story of the War of Independence and the battles of the breakthrough to besieged Jerusalem. Through bunkers, communication channels and the "value path" set up on the site, children and adults alike can experiment and get a closer look at the legacy of the battle and the War of Independence. All this, combined with videos and exhibits depicting the battlefields, spectacular views of Jerusalem and the surrounding area, as well as walking along scenic paths and paths wrapped in spectacular vegetation.
