The pandemic does not appear to have access to table fraud. The irregularity rates found in the 21,172 anti-fraud controls on the agri-food chain, of which 2,543 inspections directly at the production plants, are in line with the pre-Covid indexes, with particular attention to quality products PDO, PGI, organic and oil and wine sector. This is what emerges from the online report on the Mipaaf website on the activity of the Ministry's Anti-Fraud Inspectorate (Icqrf) in the three-month emergency Covid-19.

Over a third of the checks to ensure food quality and safety were also carried out during the lockdown, Mipaaf specifies, in the northern area of the country, 17% in the Lombardy and Veneto regions, to guarantee the maintenance of some of the major excellences of the made in Italy: Grana Padano, with over 5.2 million shapes and the "Prosecco System", with over 600 million bottles produced (data 2019).

"Food safety, transparency, quality and healthiness of production are - said the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies Teresa Bellanova - our priority".
