The twins Brie and Nikki Bella surprised their millions of fans with the release of their memoir titled "Incomparable", where they make strong revelations about past experiences of rape and a difficult childhood.

In one part of the memoirs, Nikki talks about her painful past by sharing details of the sexual assaults of which she was a victim, as well as revealing why she felt ashamed to share her truth, how she learned to let go, and how she plans to empower others. people.

At age 15, Nikki was abused by a high school classmate who "thought he was a friend," she wrote in the book. Then, at age 16, she was raped again after being drugged by a college-age man.

"There is a horrible offense in the moment, and then the shame and guilt that follows and feels almost worse than the original pain," he notes in the book. "When something like this happens to you, you understand the mentality of blaming the victim, how easy it is to feel shame instead of anger, how easy it is to feel that you could have stopped it yourself."

When interviewed by People about this event, the 36-year-old celebrity explains why she maintained that guilt during all these years and the effect it had on her life, her relationships and her future.

"When that happened to me, I immediately felt very embarrassed and blamed myself, and that's what made me want to keep it a secret," she said.

"By keeping it a secret and blaming myself, I began to lose my confidence. I began to disrespect myself. And then, to the relationships I developed at a young age, leaving other people to disrespect me and feeling that I was good, "he added.

Now Nikki says she is eager to share her truth in hopes of helping others who have been in similar situations.

"When the #MeToo movement happened, I thought, 'Oh my gosh' ... I feel like if I get these younger women to admire me, maybe I can help them out and not hold on to this as much as I did. It wasn't until age 28 and in a relationship where someone started teaching me how to respect myself. That's the time I held onto things and felt like I had no limits. And I always looked at Brie like, 'Oh, she has limits , treats herself with so much respect, "she said.

"When I look back at the decisions I made based on that, I wish I had listened to my words now as a 36-year-old woman and thought something like, 'You are going to be fine,'" she added.

In another part of the book, the twins talk about what their childhood was like, the relationship with their parents and their beginnings in wrestling until their successful careers in WWE.

"When you grow up like we did, you equate love and pain," Brie wrote, referring to the moment when her father Jon García left his mother for another woman, adding that she and Nikki found comfort in their nanny.

"Nicole and I expressed that we were strong, but inside we had imploded. We had no confidence, we were terrified. It seemed that we were living a double life. In front of my grandparents, we pretended that our home life was perfect, healthy and complete. I think they knew that it was actually broken, that our father was hurting us and that everything was very toxic, "he explained.

The memoirs give readers an insight into what the twins' lives were like before they became a WWE star. "I hope whoever reads the book throws away any imaginary capes with which they dream and say, 'I am the hero of my own story and I will conquer what I want to do!'" Nikki concluded.
