Burnt fans waited patiently, and now it turns out that a new Star Wars series has been directed by director Taika Wattiti, the Oscar winner for his film "Juju Rabbit" and who is already in the filming of the sequel to "Thor Ragnarek" and "Thor: Love And thunder, "which also stars actress Natalie Portman, whose recent release to the screens was postponed following the Corona epidemic.

Along with Wattiti will collaborate with another well-known creator, Kristy Wilson, who took part in writing the screenplay for the 1917 masterpiece.

Information about the new movie was released by Disney Company on May 4, which is considered to be "unofficial" Star Wars Day. From the beginning of the year, there were rumors in the film industry that Disney and Lux Film are returning to acclaimed director Wattiti to direct the sequel.

It should be noted that beyond the announcement, no date has been set for the film's release, although it is known that director Wattiti is very busy at the moment as he is filming the sequel to "Thor," which is due for release in February 2022.

Wattiti took his first steps in the "Star Wars" world when he filmed the first season of the "Mandalorian" series, which was widely acclaimed by Saga fans around the world.

Now, two more seasons are scheduled for this series, with the equally talented director also contributing his voice in the series to the Droid Robot IG-11. Along with Wattiti, she was joined by Star Wars projects also directed by Netflix's "Russian Doll" series Leslie Hedland, who will take part in the production of the Star Wars-related streaming series.

In practice, it is already known that in addition to the sequel to the "Mandalorian" series, a subsidiary series is planned that will deal with the life of the Wan Kenobi, as well as a pre-release film for the film Rug Wan, directed by actor Diego Luna who starred in the film itself.

It is important to note that before the Corona epidemic set a new target date for the Star Wars movie - December 16, 2022, but since it was announced that the "Game of Thrones" creators are planning to launch a film about the series on this date, Disney and Luke Film have decided to postpone its release date.
