"The country is divided in two," announced the Prime Minister. The latest version of the deconfinement plan provides for a possible reopening

The Prime Minister and six members of the government unveiled the modalities of the deconfinement of the country from May 11. According to the map of France presented, the end of confinement will apply differently depending on the department. If the green departments are maintained for three weeks, "it will be possible to think of the reopening of cafes and restaurants" said Edouard Philippe. In the red departments, colleges, parks and gardens will remain closed.

The Minister of the Interior presented the new certificate to be completed for journeys of more than 100 km outside the department of residence. Only travel for compelling family or professional reasons will be authorized.

Christophe Castaner details the measures for beaches, lakes and nautical centers, while many French people do not know what to expect for the summer holidays. The rule remains closing, but "the prefect may authorize access to beaches, lakes and nautical centers, at the request of the mayors".

Elisabeth Borne, Minister of the Ecological Transition, detailed the measures concerning public transport. It announces in particular that peak hours will be reserved for people holding a certificate from their employer.

The Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, assured that more than a million students and 130,000 teachers will return to schools on May 11. The others will be supported via distance education. About 12,000 medical and social staff will accompany this recovery to provide support, particularly psychological, for students and teachers.
