(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 8 - The 30,000 coronavirus victims in Italy have been exceeded: in fact, they have risen to 30,201, with an increase of 243 in a day. The data was disclosed by the civil protection. Yesterday the increase in deaths was 274.
There are 87,961 sick people, down from 1,663 compared to yesterday.
The decline in patients in intensive care for coronavirus continues today as well: 1,168 patients in the wards, 143 less than yesterday. In Lombardy there are 400, 80 less than yesterday. On the other hand, 14,636 people hospitalized with symptoms, with an decrease of 538 compared to yesterday. Finally, there are 72,157 people in house isolation, 982 fewer than yesterday.
The total infected with coronavirus in Italy, that is to say, currently positive, the victims and the recovered, are 217,185 with an increase compared to yesterday of 1,327.
