The total number of victims rises to 10,627 and that of infections to 155,939. The archbishop of São Paulo, cardinal Odilio Scherer, said that he had received a phone call from Pope Francis who expressed great concern about the high number of victims of Covid-19 in Brazil. "The pope has manifested his closeness and solidarity with the population of Saint Paul and has promised that he will pray for us", the cardinal revealed.
