(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 13 - Distillerie Bonollo Umberto diPadova, historic Venetian company, has produced 100 thousand bottles of denatured alcohol of 0.7lt and donated them to the Civil Protection of Veneto. The company announced this in a statement explaining that "alcohol is, in this period, particularly important both in direct sanitizing use and as a component in the preparation of products destined for sanitation: the availability of product on the market in the last month has decreased and its supply on international markets is increasingly difficult ". The company therefore decided to distill the marc no longer to obtain grappa, but to produce alcohol for non-food use.
It has also requested and obtained from the Customs Agency an authorization to produce denatured alcohol whose first batch has undergone a special denaturation to create an 80% vol. Sanitizing solution. The 100mil bottles of 0.7lt have reached the Regional Civil Protection which will distribute them, for use as sanitizers, in relation to the needs of the different districts of its regional network and the needs of the social and health structures of the Veneto region, engaged in the first line in the management of the emergency.
