(ANSA) - MARANELLO, MAY 13 - A versatile, easy to use and assemble pulmonary ventilator capable of optimizing oxygen consumption and being mass produced using easily available materials: they designed it in just five weeks - from the idea to the prototype - the Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow and the Italian Institute of Technology (Iit).
The project, announced today by press videoconference, has been identified with the code 'FI5': the letters are initials, respectively, from the house of Maranello, from the research institute based in Genoa, while the number indicates the number of weeks wanted to arrive at the ignition of the prototype starting from a white sheet. It is "open source", which means that anyone can produce it: already some Italian and foreign companies (Mexico and the USA) have contacted Ferrari and IIT to proceed with certification and distribution. Iit, connected with all European research centers, will convey the project on the Dih-Hero network dedicated to robotic technologies in healthcare.
The essential requirements have been developed thanks to the experience in the field gathered in various Italian hospital structures such as the Niguarda Hospital in Milan and the San Martino Hospital in Genoa. The Camozzi Group, from Brescia, specializing in industrial automation, played a key role in the selection of some components. (HANDLE).
