The Premier League takes another step towards returning to the field: from today, in fact, the English clubs have been able to start training in small groups, that is no longer only individually, always respecting the rules of social distancing and a series of hygiene precautions- health to minimize the risk of infection. All thanks to the memorandum of understanding, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the British government, signed by the companies, in order to return to the field within a month, the so-called "Project Restart". The British government has already made it known that professional sport will be able to resume from June 1st, albeit behind closed doors.

"Strict medical protocols of the highest safety standards - reads a statement issued yesterday by the Premier - will guarantee the return to training of all members in the safest possible way. The health and well-being of all the people involved is a priority for the Premier League, and the safe return to the pitch is a step-by-step process. "

The recovery will be monitored by Premier League inspectors, charged with verifying that each club complies with the security protocol. According to the Times, they will have to check that the workouts (maximum duration of 75 minutes), as well as all the other rules foreseen in this phase 1, are respected.

But pending to know the date of the resumption of the championship, in all likelihood Friday 19 June, the clubs have yet to agree on a series of logistical precautions, starting from the quarantine that the players will have to observe before returning to the field. The British health authorities want the players to spend at least two weeks in solitary confinement before the resumption of the championship, twice the seven days set by the security protocol adopted in the Bundesliga.

Not only that: the government-imposed quarantine requirement from June for anyone entering the United Kingdom is likely to hamper the participation of British clubs in international tournaments as early as August, when the Champions and Europa League should end.
