A festival of festivals for Rock en Seine organizers

Despite its postponement in 2021, a festival formula with a gauge of 4,000 to 5,000 people is being studied for the start of the 2020 school year.

No festival until next year? Not so sure. Interviewed by France Info on May 18, the head of Rock en Seine, Emmanuel Hoog, spoke about the festival project for the 2020 school year. If this year's edition has been officially postponed to 2021, the organizers have a idea for music to sound again in the West of Paris.

" Today, we are working on a gauge of 4,000 to 5,000 people since it is the gauge on which today we are able to work, " reveals Emmanuel Hoog. Until the start of the school year, it is forbidden to organize an event bringing together more than 5,000 people. The objective is then to set up, below the prohibition threshold, a " festival of festivals, with different forms of music which are not necessarily those of Rock en Seine ".

This symbolic meeting would then be an opportunity to be a “ testimony of the live performance and live music ”. The place remains the same, namely the Parc de Saint-Cloud to make it " the beating heart of a message around culture and music for all French people ". The determined place therefore only misses the formula.

But here again, doubt persists for Emmanuel Hoog: “ We are still several weeks away from the event, these standards may therefore have to evolve, to move. If health conditions develop negatively, then the very idea of a festival will have to be questioned. The artists should nevertheless be ready as well as the public, impatient to get together for a long time. And he hopes the end of summer saved.
