Coronavirus: Isreal, 18 cases in 24 hours

(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, MAY 22 - Eighteen new coronavirus positive cases have been recorded in Israel in the last day. According to data provided last night by the Ministry of Health, positive cases rose from 16,665 to 16,683, while healings, in the same period of time, increased from 13,574 to 13,724. The deaths remained unchanged (279) while the sick fell to 2,680, 137 of those admitted to hospitals.
    In two nursery schools in the center of Israel, some cases of infection have meanwhile occurred. A head of the ministry of health justified their gradual opening which began two weeks ago and commented that it was not possible to keep nursery schools across the Israeli territory indefinitely. The ministry reiterated the need to maintain maximum hygiene among children and anticipated that more extensive tests will be carried out.
