Presentation of Unreal Engine 5 on Playstation 5 is real gameplay

But first to the video: This is a demo - not a finished game - the gameplay shown still runs in real time. Pre-rendered scenes do not occur. Unreal Engine's official website states that the goal is to achieve photo-realism in video games . This is to be ensured by two new core technologies that are used in Unreal Engine 5 : "Nanite" and "Lumen". Above all, these should enable much more detailed geometric representations and be able to calculate light influences extremely realistically.

Also Xbox boss Phil Spencer was impressed by the presentation of the graphics engine. On Twitter, he wrote that the production for Xbox Studios working with Unreal and would already look forward to the innovations of the Unreal Engine 5 in the Xbox Series X contribute.

The Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg has meanwhile not resist a little dig toward PS5 and tweeted: "Super impressive and I can only imagine how the new Unreal is Engine 5 look at the most powerful console in the world" - which he of course the Xbox Series X means. But the marketing department in particular has to admit mistakes .

Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney is particularly enthusiastic about the new technology: He sees the new SSD hard drive of the PS5 from Sony as a revolutionary development, as reported by ingame.de *.
