Epic Games gave a first impression of Unreal Engine 5 at the Summer Game Festival . But first to the video: This is a demo - not a finished game - the gameplay shown still runs in real time. Pre-rendered scenes do not occur. Unreal Engine's official website states that the goal is to achieve photo-realism in video games . This is to be ensured by two new core technologies that are used in Unreal Engine 5 : "Nanite" and "Lumen". Above all, these should enable much more detailed geometric representations and be able to calculate light influences extremely realistically.
