VW with recall: Attention danger! Airbag can deploy incorrectly

VW with recall: With older models of the VW Golf and VW Passat there is a risk when the airbag is deployed. The auto company is recalling the affected cars.

Kassel - According to dpa , the largest German industrial group  Volkswagen ( VW ) has recalled some older models due to the risk of airbag deployment. The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) in Flensburg explains that relatively few vehicles are affected by VW . 

This involves around 4,100 VW Golf and VW Passat models from 1997 to 1999 worldwide. Apparently there are around 3,200 models in Germany. 

Recall from VW: Risks when airbags are deployed

The reason for the recall at the largest German industrial group  VW is that the gas generator in the airbag is not sufficiently sealed. This could result in “incorrect deployment” of the airbag in older VW models without warning . 

"In extreme cases, the housing of the gas generator could tear and injure the occupants," said the Federal Motor Transport Authority. In addition, the office in Flensburg emphasizes that no personal injury or property damage is known to date.

VW with recall: Airbag can deploy incorrectly 

In a statement regarding the recall of VW  , the company stated that the "insufficient seal" could occasionally occur in models of the Golf Cabriolet and Passat. The airbag could deploy incorrectly. Owners of the cars in question from 1997 to 1999 were asked to contact the VW car group  or a specialist workshop. As things stand, 3,122 VW vehicles have been recalled as a precaution.

In recent years there have been increasing problems with defective airbags in various countries . In the United States, injuries and even several deaths had occurred due to over-deployed airbags that threw parts of the metal panel through the vehicle. 

VW threatens recall: serious defects in Golf 8

VW doesn't just have problems with airbags . Germany's largest industrial company VW threatens another callback: The new Golf 8 of VW serious deficiencies were found. Therefore, the auto concert is threatened by a massive recall . The group has now stopped delivery.

The cause of the impending recall is a software problem with the Golf 8. The electrical emergency assistant eCall is affected. According to the automobile manufacturer VW , reliable data transmission to the control unit cannot be guaranteed. 

VW faces further recall: over 30,000 vehicles affected

According to the largest German industrial group VW, the problem was found in internal tests in the Aut group. It was also known from corporate circles that at least 30,000 Golf 8 brands are affected by the software problems and could possibly be recalled . 

The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has, however, been no decision on a possible Rückru f like. This is according to the preliminary stop the supplies of Golf 8 of VW , however, expected in the coming days.

There was also a recall for plasters from Hansaplast. The Hamburg-based company is recalling four of its plaster products in various versions. There is a risk of possible contamination with bacteria. Those affected by the recall can send their plaster products back to the manufacturer after prior consultation.
