With greater controls on public transport and in several municipalities of the Buenos Aires suburbs, June begins with the extension of the quarantine due to the coronavirus, which has already exceeded 70 days in much of Argentina, and which will surely last from next week. .

With the increase in cases in recent days, the national government together with the City of Buenos Aires and the Province, fundamentally, focused on reinforcing controls on the movement of people within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, which had increased over the weeks.

Thus, on Saturday the Unique Enabling Certificate for Circulation (CUHC) began to govern, which annulled the previous ones and was processed by more than 5 million people.

In that context, this Monday started with more rigorous controls at the train stations of the City of Buenos Aires . From early hours, long lines are observed at the Constitución station, where security personnel request new permits from passengers arriving from the suburbs.

The Secretary of National Security, Eduardo Villalba, said over the weekend that one of the reasons that led to the new permit, precisely, was the "concern in various areas of government about inter-jurisdictional circulation between the city of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires metropolitan area ".

In recent days, mayors of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area announced that controls were increased to enforce the quarantine for the coronavirus and that in some cases there was more movement of people and those apprehended for moving without the new permits, at the same time that they urged to respect the social, preventive and compulsory isolation.

The municipalities of the north, west and south zones increased vehicle controls taking into account the access points and routes that connect the province of Buenos Aires with the Federal Capital.

"Before the change of permits, we had been holding between four and 10 people apprehended for not having a movement certificate, with an average of eight people. On Saturday, which was the first day that the CUCH was in effect, we arrested 40 people for lacking the corresponding authorization. to circulate, "Esteban Echeverría mayor, Fernando Gray , also vice president of the Buenos Aires PJ , told Télam .

Meanwhile, the secretary of Transport of La Plata, Miguel Forte, said that they reinforced the controls of circulation in public transport with daily operations in strategic areas of the party.

"People who do not have the corresponding permission to circulate are duly notified and must return to their homes to comply with the quarantine, " said the La Plata official.

Community sources said that " in the last 24 hours 63 people were apprehended " in La Plata, where Mayor Julio Garro governs.

The mayor of Ituzaingó, Alberto Descalzo , affirmed for his part that there were no inconveniences nor was there a greater movement of circulation, but warned that "Monday morning, with the beginning of the work week, we will see if the outlook changes."

Meanwhile, in Morón, "the presence of controls on the district's income and expenses was established; there are a good number of people who already have the new permits and we are intensifying the presence of controls at highway accesses and in the vicinity to the train stations, "Mayor Lucas Ghi told Telam .

In that district of the west of the conurbano runs one of the main highways of entrance to the City of Buenos Aires, as it is the Freeway of the West.

Meanwhile, Jorge Macri (Together for Change), mayor of Vicente López, assured that they are "working tirelessly so that everyone complies with the mandatory isolation and does not leave their homes. That is the best way to contain the spread of the coronavirus "

As reported by the mayor, the Commune carries out patrol operations for 24 hours: there are 30 vehicles per shift plus the Patrol Command and the local police.

"The procedures are carried out in conjunction with the Provincial Police and the Federal Court and also coordinate with the municipality of San Isidro and the entire Northern corridor," they detailed from the Commune.

Macri also argued that "it is essential that the residents understand that this is a joint task, in which we can all make an enormous contribution just by staying at home. Each one must commit and assume that responsibility because together we can make a difference."

"For those who do not want to do it, I tell them to think of a family member or close friends and that by taking the necessary measures they can save him," Macri closed.
