The patient had surgery last week at the soldier's hospital, and after he was discharged from the home suffered from a fever and was found to be positive for the virus. • 41 medical and nursing staff were tested for corona and the tests returned negative • According to the hospital's announcement, staff members were screened and not required to go into isolation
First publication: 41 medical and nursing staff and Assuta hospital staff at the soldier's level were examined for Corona after it emerged that a patient undergoing surgery at the hospital had contracted the virus. The examinations of all staff members as well as another patient who stayed with him in the room returned negative. The hospital notes that the staff wore all the necessary protection and therefore are not required for isolation.

The patient arrived for surgery last Thursday and was discharged from the hospital upon termination. On Friday, he contacted his doctor and updated him that he was suffering from fever, a condition that may indicate not only Corona symptoms but also infection. The doctor asked him to return to the hospital, where he was examined for corona, diagnosed as a patient and transported to the Corona Department of Ichilov.
In another case that occurred yesterday, an Ichilov hospital nurse contracted the virus, however, after the hospital examination, no patient or staff member in the facility needed isolation due to contact with the same employee.
It should be noted that a "regular" patient diagnosed with corona is one of the scenarios that the health care system seeks to prevent. However, there is currently no directive to check every patient who comes to the hospital unless he / she suffers from the symptoms of the disease.
Guidance to check patients was canceled
Just a month ago, the Ministry of Health instructed hospitals to perform a corona test for every patient who is scheduled to undergo elective surgery. The pre-treatment test obligation remained only for infertility patients or candidates for organ transplantation or bone marrow transplantation or metaecological treatment.
More on:
• Within a day: The number of students entering the isolation has tripled
• In Ichilov, a vaccine development research trial will begin
• The Netherlands: 20 children suffered from coronary heart disease
It should be noted that at the beginning of the outbreak in Israel, 28 nurses at Assuta Hospital along with Dr. Dorit Tex Manova Hospital were sent to isolation after a nurse in a management position at the hospital was diagnosed with a patient. The shortage of operating room nurses then led to a reduction in hospital surgeries.
Masutha said: "A patient who was diagnosed on 28.5 returned two days later for a fever examination and was found to be corona verified in about two hours. The patient was solitary and sent to the Corona Department of Ichilov. 41 staff members who were in contact with him were immediately examined and found negative. A message was sent to the Ministry of Health."
