Former senior civil servant Jean-Pierre Lemoine, father of journalist Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, calls for the "pantheonization" of Dr. Razafindr

It was by writing an article on the Parisian monument for a departmental review that he came "naturally" to the idea of calling on the President of the Republic. A retired senior civil servant, Jean-Pierre Lemoine took his best pen to ask Emmanuel Macron to bring Dr. Jean-Jacques Razafindranazy, an emergency doctor who worked at the Compiègne University Hospital (Oise), the first deceased doctor from Covid- to the Pantheon. 19 in France at the end of March.

“It was while writing this synthesis on this national necropolis for a so-called superior elite that I came up with the idea of making the people coincide with this monument. We are talking about great men, but wouldn't it be time to pay tribute to the invisible? Asks Jean-Pierre Lemoine, whose daughter, journalist Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine hosts the daily program for France 5 "C à vous". For the former senior official, the Nation must pay tribute to this doctor, because "History must remember its sacrifice for the country".

Honoring the “anonymous” who are fighting the pandemic

Recalling that the Pantheon made it possible to honor famous characters in the 20th century such as the resistant Jean Moulin, the Nobel Peace Prize winner René Cassin, Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of Europe, the scientists Pierre and Marie Curie , the writer André Malraux, or, in recent years, other figures of the Resistance such as Pierre Brossolette and Geneviève de Gaulle-Anthonioz, and even more recently the former Minister Simone Veil, Jean-Pierre Lemoine emphasizes that these "pantheonizations Reflect our values and aspirations. "Integrating Doctor Jean-Jacques Razafindranazy would allow anonymous people, who, in defiance of their comfort and sometimes their lives, participate in the fight against this global pandemic, to return to the Pantheon in a symbolic manner", he wrote to the President of the Republic.

The entry into the Pantheon of this retired doctor, who was still practicing in the hospital center and who was the first healthcare professional infected with Covid-19 to die in France, would "honor all caregivers, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and also all the men and women, who, whatever their functions, have devoted themselves and devoted themselves during this epidemic for the benefit of all, ”insists Jean-Pierre Lemoine. And to engrave "forever, in this national and republican necropolis, the memory of the anonymous dead in combat".
