The agreement was reached on Tuesday at a meeting between Finance Minister Israel Katz, Minister of Culture Hailey Trooper and representatives of the world of culture.

At the meeting, it was agreed to provide a dedicated aid package to strengthen the cultural world in Israel, which includes, among other things, assistance to cultural institutions of NIS 200 million, in addition to increase the relief fund for distressed artists, assistance to the film industry and the publication of a call encouraging commercial productions. Within the framework of the aid package, it was also decided to publish dedicated support tests to significantly increase cultural institutions 'budgets, encourage streamlining and consolidation between institutions, and incentivize local authorities to increase their participation in the institutions' budget.

The support tests will give priority to high-income self-employed entities and require the return of employees to activity, increasing the budget of professional cultural institutions to include one-off additions given in the previous year such as loans under the State Guarantee Fund for high-risk SMEs, ensuring completion of existing movie productions in the face of directives And doubling the fund to assist distressed artists.

In addition, it was decided to issue a call for encouraging commercial and recreational productions in collaboration with the local authorities. A joint team set up for the benefit will formulate the mechanism while creating certainty for producers.
