Make way for the third generation. Marie-Odile Amaury, who headed the family media and sports group, appointed her two children, Aurore and Jean-Étienne, to the general management of an Amaury group refocused on L'Équipe and ASO. She retains the presidency.
Aurore Amaury, who joined the group in 2006, has so far managed the media section with L'Équipe, available in press, digital and audiovisual.
For his part Jean-Étienne, also associated with the group's destiny since 2006, directed ASO, organizer of sporting events including the famous Tour de France.
The two children take charge of a group created by their grandfather Émilien Amaury, founder of the liberated Parisian, then led by their father, Philippe, who died in 2006. They now succeed their mother, Marie-Odile Amaury. The latter strongly supported the creation of the L'Équipe chain in 2012 and sold the daily Le Parisien to the Les Échos group in 2015.
