Educational institutions report more cases of infection in Corona and do not take risks • Number of students and educational staff in isolation - over 10,000

Schools across the country continue to close: Bat Yam Mayor Zvika Brut decided this morning (Wednesday) to close two high schools in the city, where three Corona patients were discovered. Earlier this week, after diagnosing two of the cases, the municipality continued to operate the two high schools while isolating some of the students and teachers. However, after the discovery of the third case yesterday, it was decided to close them until all the isolates were completed.

The high schools that were closed are Shazar High School where a sick student was discovered, and Ort Melton High School where two more patients were discovered. A total of more than 1,000 students were sent home. In addition, a comprehensive high school in Be'er Sheva was also closed after the results of the examination. A schoolgirl was found to be positive.

According to the Ministry of Education data released yesterday, about 10,000 students and teaching staff in the entire education system have been sent to isolation in recent days as a result of the spread of corona virus in schools, and about 31 schools have closed. Today the data just keeps going up.

At the same time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has temporarily accepted the Education Ministry's recommendation not to close all educational institutions, but schools in the country are not waiting. Many educational institutions are already announcing that they will move to distance learning.

At the Sha'ar Negev Regional Council, in light of many instances of adherence to high schools in nearby municipalities, they decided to change the current high school learning format. Beginning tomorrow through the weekend, students in grades 7-12 will move into distance learning. Subsequently, in order to prevent them from being checked, the council decided that a new system would be published from next week aimed at reducing the number of students staying in the classroom.
