If some have already taken the plunge, this weekend will mark that of the first moments shared with the family, after three long distant months, and while the epidemic is under control, according to the scientific council.
When Mathilde was able to join her mother 98 km from her home in Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne) on May 11, the first tears of joy flowed. "The confinement was very complicated, because we are very tight and calls or video does not replace, because we always feel far away," says the 24-year-old student. This Saturday, she is preparing this time to find the whole family, with the same emotion. “We were impatiently waiting for June 2 to find out what we would be allowed to do. Since then, I count the days, the hours, the minutes, ”says Mathilde.
If, in view of the weather forecast, the barbecue has been put in storage, cousins, uncles and aunts and small children will therefore meet this weekend. "We will be fifteen I think, we will be laughed again, we are real pillars for each other. Even if we are going to be careful and protect the most fragile, ”she promises.
American Hug
Camille's belongings have been ready for several days. This Friday afternoon, she will leave Vichy (Allier) to join Châtellerault (Vienne), where her family lives. “On May 11 I thought I could go see them, and when the 100 km limit was announced, the disappointment was very strong. So on June 2, when the lock officially breaks, she jumps on her phone to call her grandparents. “I immediately warned them and we agreed to meet again this weekend. It's all the more important to find yourself since the last family meal was Christmas, ”she recalls.
After a missed reunion at Easter, Mother's Day will be an opportunity for them to finally share a moment together. "As I did not see anyone during confinement, I hope that I could hug my grandmother in the stockings," said Camille, before jumping into her car to start her little journey to Vienna.
After all a confinement respected in 25 m2 with her spouse, Mégane could not wait any longer. “I know why I didn't go home to my parents, it was the best decision. But in mid-May, when the 100 km limit was announced, I saw everyone who could see their loved ones, because they lived in this radius while we were confined, it was hard, "she says. .
From June 2, she jumped on the first train to join her parents on the Brittany coast, for a somewhat special reunion. “My father came to pick me up at the station, masked, and we had a kind of American hug.
