(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUNE 5 - "The reform of the European asylum policy must be based on the consent of all Member States. We reiterate our strong opposition to the obligatory relocation of asylum seekers and migrants". This is the main message of a letter sent to the Commission of the Interior Ministers of the Visegrad Group (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) plus Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia, on the European Pact on Migration and Asylum which the executive will present in the next weeks. During today's video conference with colleagues in the European Union, the Slovenian Minister of the Interior, Ales Hojs, closed early on any European policy that foresees the obligation to welcome migrants, as well as expressing great concern for the rescue of those arriving by sea from 'Africa.
According to Hojs, reason should be given to better control of external borders through Frontex or to relocation to a voluntary base.
