(ANSA) - PARIS, JUNE 6 - A thousand people gathered in Paris this afternoon, despite the ban, just before the American embassy, for a demonstration in homage to George Floyd and to report the police violence in France. Gatherings and processions to ask for "justice for all" took place in other cities in France. In Paris, the demonstrators were blocked a few tens of meters from the US Embassy in Place de la Concorde by a massive police lineup. Another event is scheduled for late afternoon in Champ-de-Mars, which is also prohibited under the rules on reopening after the lockdown, which foresee gatherings of no more than 10 people.
A first rally against police violence had seen over 20,000 people demonstrating in Paris on Tuesday, who had followed the appeal of the family of Adama Traoré, a young man who was killed in the Paris suburbs in 2016 during his stop in a gendarmerie barracks.
