The French police will no longer practice "strangulation". During his intervention in front of the press on June 8, the interior minister announced that the police will no longer use this controversial method during their arrests.
Christophe Castaner conceded that this process entailed "dangers" for the lives of those arrested. As a result, strangulation "will no longer be taught in police and gendarmerie schools," said the minister.
